Pyrus pyrifolia The Sand Pear, also known as Pyrus pyrifolia, is a plant that belongs to the family Rosaceae and the genus Pyrus. It is also known as the Japanese pear, Chinese pear, incorrect apple pear, and Chinese pear. Other names for it include nashiparon. The species may be found in China as well as Laos and Vietnam. It is cultivated in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, the United States of America, and China. The height of the tree ranges from 5 to 12 meters, and it is deciduous. Young shoots have clusters of woolly hair, but by their second year they are bald. The mature branches of a tree have a rusty or purplish brown coloration.
